What game is this?

“Game of Change” shows – in a light an engaging way – what social organizations do and what they change in the world. It provokes curiosity and dialogue. It can be used in various ways: as a versatile workshop tool, a resource during classes, or simply a way of spending time with friends.

Who made this game?

We developed the “Game of Change” as the team of Intensive Facilitation Care (Agata Urbanik, Marianna Wybieralska) for the Pole Dialogu Foundation, which was looking for a practical and attractive way to familiarize students of Warsaw secondary schools with the diversity of what social organizations do and what they change. The game was created in the scope of the “Pozarządownik szkolny” project, conducted by Pole Dialogu and the Center for Citizenship Education, and financed by the Capital City of Warsaw.

How did we create the game?

We drafted the initial ideas, which we then consulted and tested on draft prototypes during three games with students of Warsaw’s secondary schools and colleges. Each time, we introduced improvements based on the players’ comments.

How to play Change?

The game has been released under a Creative Commons BY-SA license, so it can be shared and forwarded without restrictions. The game in “print and play” version, the basic guidebook and printing hints can be found in this file (in Polish).

“Game of Change” was meant to be played during school lessons. Its rules are simple enough to presented and then to play, all in 45 minutes.

However, there are many ways to play the “Game of Change” – it is a workshop tool meant to provoke discussion, talk about important things and spend time well. Its use is only limited by imagination. For example, teachers from the Kazimierz Kirejczyk Special School Complex No. 105, where the game has been played, came up with their own rules.
